The More Than An Athlete program is dedicated to the holistic growth of student-athletes, focusing on developing emotional intelligence, leadership, and mental resilience. Designed to help athletes balance the pressures of sports, academics, and personal life, the program provides tools to navigate stress, build self-awareness, and thrive both in competition and beyond. By integrating emotional and mental well-being into athletic training, More Than An Athlete prepares students for success on the field, in the classroom, and in their communities. Beyond emotional intelligence, the program focusses on life skills development, including time management, goal setting, and effective communication, which are essential for success in any career.
Led by a team of passionate educators, mental health professionals, and former athletes, including Shalimar, Julmar, and Lisa, the program blends their expertise in emotional wellness, trauma-informed care, and youth development. Together, they ensure that each athlete receives not just training but also the support they need to grow as well-rounded individuals. Through workshops, mentorship, and community engagement, More Than An Athlete helps student-athletes become leaders and contributors, both in sports and in life.
